ColorGard Components

The specific components, quantities, and cost for your metal roof and snow bar & snow slide prevention system are dependent upon calculating your particular system through our S-5! Snow Guard Calculator.

Punched Crossmember

Slotted every 4” (10.2 cm) on center for seams spaced accordingly (divisible by 4”).

Not recommended with exposed-fastened profiles.

Installs in 7' 8" lengths.

Unpunched Crossmember

Accommodates any seam spacing. Use with all snow-compatible clamps or brackets.

Installs in 7' 8" lengths.

Splice (Included w/ Crossmembers)

Joins adjacent ColorGard crossmembers to maintain structural continuity. Splice automatically provides for thermal linear expansion and contraction of the ColorGard assembly.

VersaClip™ (Purchased Separately)

Connects crossmember to any S-5! standard clamps, the Corrubracket and VersaBrackets (an M8 bolt and nut are required when using VersaBracket).

SnoClip™

Retards migration of snow and ice beneath crossmembers. Optional with user discretion but recommended on seam heights of 2” and greater. SnoClip is assembled to crossmember during installation.

This component is available in two sizes to accommodate various seam height dimensions. Scroll below for our guide on selecting the right clip for your seam height.

SnapClip™

Performs the same function as SnoClip, but has two additional features. SnapClip may be retrofitted later to an existing assembly. It also screw-fastens to the crossmember, preventing its lateral migration.

This component is available in two sizes to accommodate various seam height dimensions.

Scroll below for our guide on selecting the right clip for your seam height.

Color Strip (Not Included)

This strip of roof material is inserted into crossmember to match the roof color. Request color strips 2” wide from roofing panel manufacturer or your authorized S-5! distributor.

Compatible S-5! Clamp or Bracket

See individual pages to select the best attachment solution for your metal roof profile.

Need help selecting the right SnoClip or SnapClip?

SnoClip is for use on new installations and SnapClip is designed for retrofit projects.

SnoClip is installed in conjunction with a ColorGard or SnoRail/SnoFence Snow System. SnoClip and SnapClip components retard the migration of snow and ice beneath the ColorGard snow retention crossmember. One clip or two clips are used between seams.

Please reference our chart below to help match up your seam height with the correct product and position.
