One of Argentina’s leading citrus cooperatives turned to a rail-less solar mounting solution to install a 217.25 kW rooftop array while helping protect the integrity of its existing corrugated metal roof.
COTA LTDA, one of Argentina’s leading citrus cooperatives, wanted to reduce its reliance on grid electricity with rooftop solar while protecting the integrity of its existing metal roof.
The 217.25 kW system was installed on a 15-year-old, curved corrugated roof. Because the facility stores products that are highly sensitive to moisture, maintaining a weathertight roof and reducing the risk of leaks were key priorities. The project also called for a lightweight mounting approach that would limit additional load on the existing structure. Using a rail-less PVKIT system helped reduce the amount of mounting material required while meeting the demands of the curved roof.
The 217.25 kW rooftop solar array was designed to offset a portion of COTA’s year-round electricity use while working within the constraints of its existing curved metal roof. The system spans a 27 m x 45 m, 22-gauge corrugated roof and includes 353 GCL System Integration modules, two 100 kW Solplanet inverters and a rail-less mounting system using S-5! PVKIT and CorruBracket 500T PV.
COTA sized the system around the facility’s base load, with the goal of reducing grid electricity consumption by approximately 8% and covering about 12% of daytime energy use.

S-5! partner Good Energy recommended the rail-less PVKIT solar mounting solution paired with CorruBracket 500T PV. Eliminating traditional rails reduced the number of rooftop components and overall system weight while making materials easier for crews to transport and handle on the roof.
The streamlined system also proved valuable when installation coincided with Tucumán’s rainy season and severe storms. With fewer components and tools on the roof, crews could stop work and evacuate quickly as conditions deteriorated. Despite the extreme weather, the completed installation had no reported leaks, no module movement and no internal or external facility damage.
