(owners of S-5! Technology and Trademarks) against Contek, Inc., d/b/a Snow Management Systems ("Contek"), which alleged infringement of U.S. Patent Nos. 5,228,248 and 5,983,588 patents, which cover various technologies embodied in S-5! clamps and related snow retention equipment and applications.  Entering judgment for the plaintiff and against Contek, the United States District Court for the District of Colorado has found the patents valid, enforceable and infringed by Contek.  Contek has now taken a license under the patents and is required to pay S-5! substantial royalties on licensed products to be sold in the future.  Specific terms of the award, license, and other terms of the parties' settlement are confidential.
